“Epitaph for Stanisław Soyka” will sound in January at Cavatina Hall.

Stanisław Soyka was one of the most characteristic and appreciated voices of the Polish music scene. Natalia Przybysz and Andrzej Smolik are responsible for the preparation of the musical epitaph. On stage they will be accompanied by exceptional guests: Anna Maria Jopek, Grażyna Łobaszewska and Nina Soyka, creating a multi-voiced, emotional dialogue around the work of Stanisław Soyka.

“Epitaph for Stanisław Soyka” is a musical journey through the achievements of one of the most important artists of the Polish scene. The program includes both the most famous works, such as “Tolerance” and “The Miracle of Memory”, as well as less obvious compositions that Soyka used during his concerts — also in exceptional duets with Polish and foreign artists.

For more than four decades of his career, Stanisław Soyka bravely combined jazz, soul, pop and singing poetry. His music was distinguished by extraordinary sensitivity, emotional interpretation and characteristic artistic language, thanks to which he permanently entered the history of Polish song.

However, the project of Natalia Przybysz and Smolik is not only a memory. It is a lively dialogue with Soyka's work — an attempt to reconnect with his music, his emotions and his unique way of telling about the world.

“Just as it is not easy to say goodbye to Stanisław Soyka, it is impossible to let go and stop singing “Tolerance”, “The miracle of oblivion” or “Let my eyes kiss you” - says Natalia Przybysz, who together with Smolik is behind the project. During the concerts, the organ will also sound — an instrument that, as the artist emphasizes, symbolizes the immanent value that Polish music has acquired thanks to Soyka.

It's more than a concert. It is a meeting of artists, generations and musical sensibilities. It is a joint experience of Stanisław Soyka's work and a tribute to the artist whose songs will forever remain part of Polish culture.
