ERASERHEAD XIU XIU (US) | CONCERT | PHONOMO

After the project “Plays the Music of Twin Peaks”, Xiu Xiu once again reaches into the world of David Lynch. This time, however, they do not interpret the existing soundtrack, but present a new multimedia show inspired by “Eraserhead” — Lynch's full-length debut and one of the most emblematic works of his filmography.

ERASERHEAD XIU XIU combines concert and projection, but is not a standard soundtrack for a film. The starting point remains the disturbing atmosphere, the grotesque, the surrealism and the gloom of “Eraserhead”, which are filtered by the team's own aesthetics.

Xiu Xiu uses field recordings, specially prepared instruments, organs, modular synthesizers, vocals, electrical interference and musique betonète elements. The original sound solutions of Alan Splet and David Lynch are a reference point for creating new compositions and visual narratives. The result is a form that lies between a concert, an installation and an audiovisual performance.
