Three decades. Rave, house and punk energy. Erol again in Katowice! The party is just getting started. His story sounds like a legend. The shy son of immigrants would sneak out of a window at night to play indie to people who didn't give up a single poor number. In 1997 he opened TRASH, the Monday parties that rocked London for a decade. He was their promoter and resident until 2007, when he closed the club in top form. They played there before anyone heard of them: LCD Soundsystem, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Klaxons. The Face named TRASH the best club in the world and Mixmag named Alkan DJ of the year 2006. He mixed genres before it became fashionable and changed the London scene for good. Today he plays in the best clubs and at the biggest festivals in the world. He loves back-to-back sets: you've probably recently had the pleasure of seeing him play with Fred again.., Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk and Busy P, and before that he was behind the console with Palms Trax, Solomun, 2manydjs, Justice, Daniel Avery and Boys Noize. As a producer, he worked with Late of the Pier, The Killers and Duran Duran. His remixes for The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip, Tame Impala and Justice have not aged a day. He runs the Phantasy label and is a resident of NTS Radio. He doesn't plan sets. He comes with a bag of records and listens to the dance floor. Sour rave, crazy house, the spirit of alternative pop. You never know where it will take you, but it is always worth getting carried away. Trends are changing faster than ever. Erol Alkan has been ahead of them for thirty years.
