EWA KOC announces debut album “There is no better world than this one” and autumn tour

They had no plans to start a team. They met to write one song.

What was supposed to be a one-off session on the occasion of a guest collaboration between Błażej Król and Dawid Tyszkowski turned into something much bigger. The singers were joined by Kamil Pater, Kuba Staruszkiewicz and Wawrzyniec Topa. Instead of one song, others appeared, and playing together turned out to be so natural that no one wanted to finish the story after the first song.

This is how EWA KOC was born.

Rehearsals took place in Kocewka — a place that over time became more than just a rehearsal room for the team. It is from him that the name of the formation comes - a perverse play on words, which is both a memory of a common beginning and a symbol of a process that happened without a plan.

In autumn 2026, EWA KOC will release her debut album “There is no better world than this”. A few weeks later, the band will embark on a tour of the same name, presenting the material in its full, stage dimension for the first time.

The album was created out of the need to play together — five musicians representing different aesthetics and experiences found the pure, original joy of making music together. Without compromise, with confidence in your own sensibilities. The result is music that draws on alternative rock, songwriting and improvisation, while remaining surprisingly consistent. It is a story about relationships, everyday life and trying to find meaning in a world that is constantly changing.

Błażej Król has been setting the direction of the Polish alternative for more than a decade as a songwriter, singer and composer. At EWIE, KOC became part of a collective in which attention to others and the joy of creating together turned out to be just as important as the individual voice.

Dawid Tyszkowski brought to the team the characteristic emotionality and sensitivity that define his work from the beginning. In the new formation, he discovers his more energetic and rough sound, which is a flawless carrier of emotions.

Kamil Pater has been building his own recognizable guitar language for years, moving freely between alternative, jazz and improvised music. At EWIE, KOC is responsible for the sonic boldness and non-obvious solutions that give the works a unique character.

Kuba Staruszkiewicz belongs to the group of the most respected Polish drummers, known for their ability to build energy and space at the same time. In the band, his playing is the driving force behind the band, giving the songs a pulse and concert intensity.

Wawrzyniec Topa as bassist, producer and arranger has been co-creating the sound of many artists of the younger generation for years. At EWIE, KOC brings together five different musical personalities to form the foundation upon which the entire band rests.

Although each of the EWA KOC members has their own audience and a well-established position on the Polish scene, it was only the joint project that allowed them to create something that none of them had done before. Without leaders, without division into primary and secondary roles — with the belief that the best things happen when musicians listen to each other.

“There is no better world than this” will hit listeners in the fall of 2026. The release of the album will be accompanied by a nationwide concert tour, during which EWA KOC will present all the material live for the first time.
