The enamelled tableware factory located in Kraków's Zabłocie district has gained extraordinary popularity thanks to Steven Spilberg's film “Schindler's List”. Today, the story of the rescue of 1100 Jewish DEF employees is known all over the world. However, the history of the factory is not connected only with the times of the Second World War. In the exhibition, together with curator Bartosz Heksel, we will learn about the wartime history of the Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF), but also discover its origins and post-war fate in the former industrial district.
