City invoices | The Art of Sensitivity

Can you draw a city without using a pencil? And to record his history with traces, invoices and prints? During the workshop, the children will go on a sensory walk around the city and look for textures that we usually pass by indifferently: on walls, sidewalks, grilles, covers, wooden elements, sculptures or architectural details.

Each participant will receive their own small notebook — a graphic travel diary. Using simple graphic techniques, we will collect the invoices found along the way and create their prints. So the notebook will become a personal map of the city's invoices.

This is a workshop for young explorers who like to experiment and look at the world up close. We will show that the inspiration for creation can be everything that is around us - even a simple manhole cover or the texture of an old masonry.

It is not necessary to be able to draw or have previous art experience. All you need is curiosity and willingness to explore the city anew.

The city can be seen. Cities can be touched. The city can also be retaken!

During the workshop we will walk around the city — please wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for the weather.

Katarzyna Niedźwiedek — a graduate of workshop graphics at the Faculty of Arts of the UMCS, cultural animator and educator. She conducts creative classes in drawing and graphics at the Youth House of Culture “Pod Akacji” in Lublin. She is the founder of an art studio with graphic elements for children and young people and co-author of educational projects for children and young people.
