Family concert with Kirill Petrenko “Mathis the Painter”
Berliner Philharmoniker Biennale
tickets
info
Mathis the Painter has a big dream: He wants to paint beautiful pictures for an altar. He puts all his skills, his imagination, his best ideas and, above all, his feelings into these works. Anyone who looks at the paintings is deeply touched in their hearts — like Paul Hindemith, whom the paintings inspired to write his Mathis der Maler symphony. With this work, the composer succeeded in bridging the gap between painting and music. Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker show how colors and shapes become music that you can hear and feel.
