One plucky papaya seed reaches the ground and refuses to put down roots, deciding instead to adventure onwards deeper into the rainforest. But soon the seed must navigate the challenges of not only the natural world, but also the encroachment of agricultural activity on the surrounding areas.
A hit at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, this unusual film uses colourful collage and stunning animation to pose important questions about the environmental impact of humans as well as drawing the audience into the simple beauty of a plant life cycle.
Before the film, we’re delighted to welcome back Saskia and the team from Small World Cinema to support a free pre-film activity for families in our Cinema Café from 10am. Come and try out your own collage, using the film as your starting point to layer your own rainforest-inspired creation.
