Gene Kelly stars as the conceited silent film star Don Lockwood, who gets taken down a peg or two when sound movies arrive. But a chance meeting with Hollywood newcomer Kathy Seldon (Debbie Reynolds) kickstarts a new career trajectory and a new romance.
Aided by best friend Cosmo (an impossibly athletic Donald O’Conner), Don and Kathy work to save their studio by reinventing the talkies for a new generation of cinemagoers – all under the watchful eye of Lina Lamont, a wonderfully villainous starlet who’s out to get them.
Blissful big screen viewing, this is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your next generation of cinemagoers to routines like ‘Make ’em Laugh’, ‘Good Morning’ and, of course, the titular ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.
And seeing as it’s Hollyween – feel free to come along dressed in your fave costume or your most glamorous outfit!
