Fantasy and Fortune

An unusual ballet performance with music by Hector Berlioz and Carl Orff. Fantasy and Fortune is an intense journey through the emotions, obsessions and contrasts of human life. In the first part - based on Berlioz's Fantastic Symphony - we learn the story of a young artist who loses himself in passion for a woman. Love disappointment, hallucinations and visions lead him through dreams, ecstasy, all the way to madness and witches' coven. This is a dramatic tale of inner struggle and emotional loss. In the second part, to the music of Carmin Buran Orff, the scene comes to life as a symbolic circle of life. The choir and soloists become narrators of everyday struggles, joys and sorrows. The songs, full of contrasts and passion, show the unity of opposites - like yin and yang, where light and shadow form an inseparable whole. Stage movement and music intertwine in a metaphorical story about a man immersed in the rhythms of fate.

Our ballet performance moves the senses and hearts. The grand musical form, expressive ballet and visual power of the choir create a mesmerizing spectacle - a reflection on the nature of love, loneliness and belonging.
