How much is enough?
Your life will get better in a little while. It only requires you to renounce everything you believe in. All your values. Then you can get exactly what you dream of. Tempted? It becomes the scientist Faust in Goethe's classic about our obsession to get it all -- for what it will.
FAUST is a modern society satire about morality, greed and lust. A critique of our boundless quest to own, optimize and control everything. And of all the excuses we end up believing in ourselves when morality gets in the way of what we dream of. The creepy thing about Faust isn't that he can't control his lust. The eerie thing is that his longing is similar to ours.
A new generation of performing artists is swooning over Goethe's gargantuan work without awe -- including the infamous second part, which is largely deemed impossible to perform. The stage features an all-star cast of actors with Nicolaj Copernicus as Faust and Thomas Hwan as the devilish Mephisto.
FAUST is staged by Norwegian director Lea Fedida Claussen, who creates performing arts with nerve, physical intensity and a sharp look at the present. She is working on Goethe's classic together with the young poet, writer and playwright Elias Sadaq and her regular collaborator, scenographer Maya Livingstone, who was named Scenographer of the Year 2026 for the award of the Norwegian Reumert, the Hedda Prize.
FAUST will be their first performance on Danish soil.
