29th Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Festival of Polish Composers in Bielsko-Biała - Voices of the City, Final Gala.
Bielsko-Biała holds the proud name of the Polish Capital of Culture this year. So it's time to recall the composers and artists associated with our city. Some names seem unknown, but it is during this concert that everything will be clarified. You will be surprised what Karol Szymanowski has to do with Bielsk, where the author of the famous hit “I kiss your hand, madame” came from and whether Felicia Kaszowska was not the first lady of the Polish vocal scene before Maria Koterbska. We will establish the line of organists of St. Nicholas Cathedral and stay for a while at the Metropolitan Opera. The soloists of this concert are artists associated with our city, representing different musical styles. They will be accompanied by the Silesian Philharmonic under the name of the patron of the Festival and conducted by his grandson. Thus, we will symbolically pass the baton of the Polish Capital of Culture to Katowice.
