29th Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Festival of Polish Composers in Bielsko-Biała - Voices of the city. Inauguration of the festival Celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, the Bielska School of Music is a permanent and tried and tested partner of the Festival of Polish Composers. Graduates of the school feed a number of artistic ensembles in Poland and around the world. Therefore, this year it is the symphony orchestra of the current students that will inaugurate the entire Festival.

About the event

29th Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Festival of Polish Composers in Bielsko-Biała - Voices of the city. Inauguration of the festival Celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, the Bielska School of Music is a permanent and tried and tested partner of the Festival of Polish Composers. Graduates of the school feed a number of artistic ensembles in Poland and around the world. Therefore, this year it is the symphony orchestra of the current students that will inaugurate the entire Festival.

Along with young music adepts, famous graduates will appear on the stage — oboist Arkadiusz Krupa or rising star of Polish piano music — Mateusz Dubiel. Especially for the Festival, the pianist will present for the first time in his performance the Piano Concerto of the patron saint of FKP — H.M. Górecki. In addition, at the concert we will hear two compositions by composers from Bielsko-Biała.

Polish Capitals of Culture is an initiative that aims to promote and support the cultural development of Polish cities. The program was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2024 as a response to the growing interest in the culture and art of various regions of Poland. The coordinator of the programme is the National Cultural Centre. The Patron of the Program is Totalizator Sportowy.
