A joint project of one of the most popular theatres in Slovenia and young artists who take up an exciting and controversial subject in an innovative and courageous way.

The show's starting point is the authentic and harrowing story of David Reimer — a boy whose life has become one of the most poignant examples of the question of whether anyone — medicine, culture, family, society — can interfere with your sense of identity? Can anyone choose for you?

Is it possible to impose an identity on someone? What happens when your body doesn't match the expectations of others? And where is the line between care, upbringing and violence?

“I, David” confronts us with these questions without ready answers.
