In 'Guarantee' Adèle Exarchopoulos delivers perhaps her strongest performance since 'Adèle's life'. The film follows the young actor Garance over a period of eight years. Garance is a rare talent, but she wrestles with both her own demons and the inexorable demands of the industry and the profession. Despite her raw magnetism and vibrancy, she lives from paycheck to paycheck in a small apartment in Paris, where she is slowly moving to from anxiety and a growing alcohol abuse. Along the way, she reaches to build a loving relationship with Pauline (Sara Giraudeau), a low-key and caring artist who spends the majority of her time in the countryside but ultimately is the only one who can rescue Garance out of her self-destructiveness. The film had its world premiere in the competition programme at that year's Cannes Film Festival.
