Deadline: 10/15/2026, hours 17:30
Venue: Cricoteki Education Hall
Tadeusz Kantor and Andrzej Wajda are two outstanding Polish artists who have achieved great success in the international arena, constructing their individual languages of artistic expression. Professor Joanna Walaszek's lecture will be an opportunity to examine the relationship between Wajda and Kantor while working on the film recording of the play The Dead Class, realized in 1976.
About the lecture
As part of the meeting, questions will be asked about the status and nature of the recording, which was not only a form of documentation, but also an artistic creation with the character of a separate work, capable of conveying not only the senses of the Theater of Death, but also generating its own creative tensions.
The lecture was part of a series of lectures and meetings: “Nothing more?” , in which authors interpret and reinterpret the work of Tadeusz Kantor in order to broaden the perspectives of perception of the work of the creator of the Cricot Theater 2. The lecture also accompanies the exhibition “I was Tadeusz Kantor's assistant. Andrzej Wajda”, which we open on October 6.
