Tell the children: “Mr. Tom is building a house”

See what the construction site of big dreams looks like. The performance of the Scena 96 Theater is an architecture lesson for the youngest, which proves that for those who want nothing difficult. Even if it is planned to build a house from the foundation to the very roof. If you are looking for a worthwhile event for children in Wrocław, then book a Sunday afternoon.

The creators of the play “Mr. Tom Builds a House” took up the ambitious challenge of transferring to the stage the black and white illustrations of Francisca Themerson, which in the 1930s were considered absolute avant-garde. Thanks to the use of multimedia and projection, these witty drawings literally come to life in front of the audience, creating an original children's theater.

Mr. Tom's journey to the construction site is a dynamic spectacle in which modern multimedia intertwines with the so-called living plan. Children will see how houses emerge from the lines and points, and the Architect Angle explains the secrets of engineering in a light and fun way.

“Mr. Tom Builds a House” is also a fascinating journey into the past. To a world where there were no cell phones and most things were dealt with in person or by letter. It can be an exotic history lesson, and for parents a sentimental return to the roots.

This family show raises an important question: in today's fast-paced world, can we still enjoy the very process of creation? Mr. Tom Łebski, with his unwavering optimism, proves that every difficulty on the way to realizing dreams is just another stage of a great adventure.

Teatr Scena 96 is a team of professionals awarded the “Meritorious for Warsaw” badge, known for treating young spectators with great respect and passion.

Their show for children is an ideal proposal for little explorers who are curious about the world. The Scena 96 Theatre brings to the Wrocław Culture Zone a performance based on the cult book by Franciszka and Stefan Themerson from 1938. Although almost a hundred years have passed since its first publication, the story of Mr. Tom Łebski continues to entertain and inspire, proving that good literature does not age.
