Musical performed by the Musical Theater “Wit-Wit” realized as part of the project “Musicalove Gliwice — Youth Musical Academy”.
After the huge success of the June performances in the Ruins of the Victoria Theatre, the musical “Footloose” returns to the Gliwice stage. This time in a special place for the history of this title.
On November 15, 2002, the premiere of “Footloose” took place on the stage of the then Gliwice Music Theater. After 24 years, the musical will sound again within the same walls. On November 25, 2026, on the stage of the Tadeusz Różewicz Theater in Gliwice, the Musical Theater “Wit-Wit” will present two performances of its realization of this iconic title, prepared as part of the project “Musicalove Gliwice — Youth Musical Academy”.
“Footloose” is an energetic musical about youth, freedom and the courage to defy imposed rules. Ren McCormack moves from Chicago to small Bomont, where he quickly discovers that dancing and public entertainment have been banned. Together with a group of young people, he decides to fight for the right to express themselves and change the reality in which they have come to live.
Dynamic choreographies, expressive characters, humor and world-famous songs create a show full of emotion and stage energy. It is a story about the conflict of generations, the need for freedom, friendship and the courage to fight for one's own voice.
After its success in the Ruins of the Victoria Theatre in June, “Footloose” returns not only to the stage, but also to the place with which its Gliwice history has been linked for more than two decades.
