Forbidden books - reading and quiz

On the occasion of Danish PEN's campaign #ForbudteBøger, Blågårdens Bibliotek invites reading aloud for adults.

The librarian reads aloud from older books that have been banned and seized — expect everything from lewd vampire literature to society-shattering poems.

We serve a glass and along the way there will be quiz on forbidden literature - of course with a forbidden prize.

The campaign #ForbudteBøger Danish PEN is behind the campaign, which this year will take place 5—11 October 2026. Its purpose is to focus on freedom of expression and the right to read without censorship.
