What actually happens behind the closed barn doors before the meat lands on our plates?
She took work in a pig barn. No one knew she was a journalist. For a month, Klara Trebbien Rasmussen worked undercover in a conventional Danish pig production. Here she experienced a hard everyday life, where the pace is higher than the consideration, and where what feels wrong at first quickly becomes a matter of course in repetition.
Hear her experiences from the book “Pork” — a rare and raw inside account of the ethical dilemmas and animal welfare: what happens every day to thousands of pigs before they land on the dinner table.
