Fraser Urquhart Quartet ft. Sam Braysher

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Fraser Urquhart is rapidly becoming one of the UK's foremost jazz pianists. Cutting his teeth on the vibrant Scottish jazz scene, his fluent and exciting playing has been heard at all the major jazz venues as well as the Edinburgh & and Glasgow Jazz Festivals, both in his own right and as accompanist to a host of high-profile jazz musicians such the Award-winning Scottish vocalist Georgia Cecile. Joined by Tom Farmer-bass, Matt Skelton-drums & special guest, the highly regarded, tasteful alto saxophonist Sam Braysher, this swinging, stellar quartet will play favourite standards from the Great American Songbook with a focus on two iconic composers: Richard Rodgers and George Gershwin. A fantastic choice for fans of classic melodic jazz & highly recommended.

“Urquhart…unfailingly elegant piano playing" Bebop Spoken Here; "Extremely tasty sound at the piano" Jamie Cullum, BBC; "Braysher’s cool, modernist twist on old songs is just superb" Jazz Journal
