Fred Hersch, who has received numerous awards and collaborated with Bill Frisell, Stan Getz and Esperanza Spalding, comes to the Bremen Theater
For more than three decades, Fred Hersch has established himself as one of jazz's most influential creative forces. The American pianist has been nominated 17 times for a Grammy and has received, among other things, a Doris Duke Artist Award in 2016. Hersch has collaborated with Bill Frisell, Chris Potter, Julian Lage, Joe Lovano, Kurt Elling, Cécile McLorin Salvant and Enrico Rava and starred on recordings with Joe Henderson, Art Farmer, Stan Getz and Charlie Haden.
He has released twelve albums with his trio and twelve solo albums — most recently Silent, Listening from 2024, recorded for ECM with legendary producer Manfred Eicher. Among his more recent releases are Alive at the Village Vanguard with Esperanza Spalding, which was nominated for two Grammy awards, as well as The Surrounding Green with the Fred Hersch Trio, released on ECM in 2025.
