info
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last three symphonies are surrounded by mystery. For what occasion were they created? Should they really — as many musicologists assume — be Mozart's “symphonic legacy,” written with the awareness of imminent death? There is a lot of speculation, the fact is: Each of these symphonies is a stroke of genius and has its very own character — from the already romantic-looking symphony in E flat major to the dramatic and gloomy in G minor to the brilliant “Jupiter” symphony. As part of the Zeichen & Wunder Biennale, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra is exploring the secrets of these works.
