Our friends and neighbours from St Martin-in-the-Fields perform short repertoires of songs responding to some of our most well-known double portraits. Inspired by our exhibition ‘Yinka Shonibare and Thomas Gainsborough: A Conversation’, which features Gainsborough’s painting ‘Mr and Mrs Andrews’, discover the relationships between sitters, artists, art and music.
Accompanied by Gallery Educator Tilly Scantlebury, join us for a series of short talks and performances in front of various paintings from across the centuries.
They can be found in Room 21 at 6.15 pm, Room 4 at 6.45 pm, Room 34 at 7.15 pm and Room 45 at 7.45 pm.
