Director of the Wałbrzych Porcelain Museum Piotr Micek and exhibition curator Monika Patuszyńska invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Our Everyday Fryderyk”, which will take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 18.00 at the Gallery of the Center of Unique Ceramics — a branch of the Porcelain Museum in Wałbrzych, located in the CNKis Stara Koparnia at 29 Wysockiego Street.
Admission to the event is free.
The exhibition “Frederick of Our Daily Life” is one of the most important proposals of the upcoming exhibition season, taking up the theme of porcelain as a witness to the history of the city and the fate of its inhabitants.
It is a story of the 20th and early 21st centuries written in an object that has survived its creators, subsequent owners and the factory where it was created. The eponymous Fryderyka, an icon of Wałbrzych porcelain, a well-known fashion, present in many houses, becomes a starting point for reflection on the history of Wałbrzych industry, social transformations and the memory of people whose lives for decades were connected with local porcelain factories.
The exhibition goes beyond the history of the object itself. It tells about work, everyday life and transience, about the relationship between industrial heritage and the present. It shows how porcelain can become a carrier of memory and a testimony of a world that has disappeared, leaving behind objects, stories and traces of human experiences.
The initiator and curator of the exhibition is Monika Patuszyńska.
Artists were invited to participate in the project: Marek Cecuła, Karina Marusińska, Elżbieta Trzewiczek-Pietkiewicz and Sebastian Pietkiewicz, Arkadiusz Szweda and Małgorzata Et Ber Warlikowska.
Portraits of the heroes of the exhibition were made by Seweryn Charyton.
The exhibition will be on view from November 7, 2026 to April 4, 2027 at the Gallery Centrum Centrum Unikatowa at 29 Wysockiego Street in Wałbrzych.
Organizers: Wałbrzych Municipality, Wałbrzych Porcelain Museum, Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Center for Culture and Art in Wrocław (OKiS).
