The Firecracker

Family performance/Age: From 7 years/Sold out

Join us on a fast-paced and colourful journey as Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale is brought to life in Steen Koerner's modern and musical interpretation of The Lighthouse. Both children and adults can look forward to a visually spectacular and sensuous family performance where theatre, street dance, 3D animation and music merge into one story.

Here is the story as we know it: the returned and poor soldier, the witch, the dogs with eyes as big as teacups, millwheels and the Round Tower — and here is the princess dreaming of love and freedom outside the castle walls. But Folketeatrets FYRTØJET is more than that, because in Koerner & Co's interpretation, the fairy tale enters our time and turns into a poetic and sensitive tribute to the mothers and sons of all time in war.

The Lighthouse is a true adventure with fabulous actors and artists, a bombardment of visual effects, new music and lyrics — and not least an eternally topical story of courage, power of action, hope and forgiveness.
