“The Good Boy” is another international production of Jan Komasa, the Oscar-nominated director of “Corpus Christi” and the high-profile films “Hater” and “City of 44”. The world premiere of the film “The Good Boy” took place during the jubilee 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. The film has been invited to the prestigious Centrepiece section, which, as the organizers emphasize, “honors and celebrates global film achievements” by presenting outstanding, contemporary works from around the world. Komasa's latest film is a story that draws you from the first minutes into a kaleidoscope of ambiguities and provokes deep reflection. A story that runs behind the nose with black humor and at the same time asks many difficult questions about the limits of morality, without giving unambiguous answers. It forces you to confront your own beliefs and leaves no one indifferent.
Starring: Stephen Graham awarded the Golden Globe for his moving role in the TV series “Maturation”, Andrea Riseborough (“Birdman”), Anson Boon (“1917”, “Gangster Zone”) and Monika Frajczyk (“Green Border”). The production of “The Good Boy” is produced by the Oscar nominees for the film “IO” Ewa Piaskowska and Jerzy Skolimowski and the acclaimed British producer, founder of Recorded Picture Company, Jeremy Thomas (“The Last Emperor”, “Sexy Beast”, “Only Lovers Survive”). The cinematographer is Michał Dymek, who has Oscar-nominated films “Girl with a Needle” by Magnus von Horn, “True Pain” by Jesse Eisenberg and “IO” by Jerzy Skolimowski. The script was written by debutant Bartek Bartosik in collaboration with Naqqash Khalid.
