Genevieve Stokes

Music has been a part of Genevieve Stokes' life from an early age. Already at the age of eight, she began to play the piano and write her own songs, and the many hours of immersion have resulted in a talent of a very special kind.

The American singer and songwriter creates form-complete piano-borne indie pop that harbors dizzying depths, great emotions and intimate confessions. A fan of Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor, she also traces inspiration from recent musical uniques such as Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus in her poignant and sophisticated songwriting.

In 2020, Genevieve Stokes signed a contract with the legendary American music company Atlantic (Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, The War on Drugs), which in 2021 and 2023 released the promising EPs “Swimming Lessons” and “Catching Rabbits”. Subsequently, the excellent debut album “With a Lightning Strike” was released in 2024, recorded with producer Tony Berg (Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers), among others. Following this, she conducted both her own headliner tour and toured with Role Model.

After fanning out in Portland, Maine, the musical starseed is now stirring. In 2026, she has so far released the two excellent singles “Medicine” and “Poltergeist”, and there are many indications that more new music is in store. In any case, Genevieve Stokes has just announced an international tour that includes her first Danish concert, which will take place on 15 November in DR Koncerthuset's Studie 3.
