About the event

The musician and cabaret artist Georg Ringsgwandl, who has earned himself a firm place among the great Bavarian singer-songwriters with 12 longplays so far and was awarded the Bavarian Cabaret Prize 2025 for his life's work, will once again be on the stage of the Rebublik with great song art in 2026.

Ringsgwandl, who himself is responsible for voice, strings, keys and bodywork, is at his side, as always, his tried and tested and terrific band, consisting of Daniel Stelter (guitar, mandolin), Christian Diener (electric bass, Moog), Tommy Baldu (drums).

The singer-songwriter, who stumbles around the world with a watchful eye, composts impressions in his brain and the lyrics formed in this way with the musical styles that have shaped him over the decades, celebrated his 40th stage anniversary in 2025. As a “bird of paradise with Bavarian idiom and seismograph of human sensitivities and abysses,” he is also one of the great Bavarian poets who repeatedly manage to process the beauty of his dialect in great songs. “I wui di” is one of those songs in which lyrics and music blend together perfectly and is deeply moving through its dialect elegance. Of course, Ringsgwandl also looks back at the daily madness of life in our society and talks about the efforts of parcel carriers in “Götterbote”, or in “HSP/cell phone, key, wallet” about the fate-determining significance of these three objects essential for survival. “While dancing,” we hear him sing from the perspective of a man who has experienced and seen a lot and no longer has to fight every fight himself.
