GEORGE MICHAEL: THE FAITH TOUR

George Michael: The Faith Tour is a restored and remastered production based on lost footage.

Directed by longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin, the new film features footage shot at the famed Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg of the Faith Tour in 1988. The film consists of footage assembled from footage shot with 14 cameras on 35mm tape over two nights, showing the then 24-year-old singer at the height of his career.

Morahan is a prolific music video director who has collaborated with Michael on many tracks, as well as artists such as McCartney, Elton John, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Pet Shop Boys, Cyndi Lauper, Aretha Franklin and many more. Austin is a longtime collaborator and friend of Michael, manages his estate, and was a co-director and co-producer of the 2017 documentary “George Michael: Freedom.”

The album “Faith”, written, arranged, produced and performed almost entirely by Michael, brought the British artist a Grammy Award in the category “Album of the Year” and a record series of four singles that reached number one on the US charts: “Faith”, “Father Figure”, “One More Try” and “Monkey”, making Michael the only British soloist. It was the first time that he managed to reach four singles at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States from a single album. The album has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in 10 countries.

This iconic singer rose to fame in the 80s as a member of the duo Wham! , selling more than 30 million records. He later embarked on a solo career and sold more than 125 million records worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling musicians of all time. It has charted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart eight times in the United States and seven times on the UK Singles Chart. He was the most played artist on British radio between 1984 and 2004, and he released his last studio album in 2004, followed by his last concert album in 2014.
