Getdown Services

English party staffs set fire to VEGA

After a 6-star concert at this year's Roskilde Festival, Getdown Services will return to Denmark when on March 12, 2027 they pass Store VEGA.

“Probably the funniest concert I've ever seen.”

So big were the words when GAFFA's reviewer awarded a maximum of 6 stars to Getdown Services' concert at Roskilde Festival. The British duo's performance at the Animal Theatre was also a superb demonstration of why their minimalist yet catchy DIY party punk is riding a rising tide of popularity and enthusiasm.

“Britain's Best Band,” childhood friends Josh Law and Ben Sadler have called themselves -- not without the infectious wit with which their musical universe is rich. Musically, they send affectionate nods to Sleaford Mods, LCD Soundsystem and Viagra Boys, while the lyrics deal with topics as diverse as chips, dog breeding and banging your head into the radiator.

Getdown Services are current with their second album, which they have written, recorded and mixed themselves. It has been given the glorious tongue in cheek-sounding title Massive Champion and came out on August 14th.

On this occasion, Getdown Services will return to Denmark next spring, where on March 12, 2027 they will fill Store VEGA with pumping beats, ass-ball riffs, bouncy beer bellies and anarchic energy.
