Ginzburg Dynasty: Yiddish Swing & Klezmer

The Ginzburg dynasty plays Klezmer from the bottom of their hearts. Anyone who hears them knows only one verdict: terrific. With their music, they build a bridge from centuries-old tradition to modernity. Eastern European klezmer, swing, Yiddish cabaret, oriental pop and the finest jazz — there is something for every taste.

The members of the Ginzburg family are sixth-generation trained professional musicians. Her klezmer repertoire is passed on, expanded and perfected from generation to generation. They are multi-instrumentalists and have a long tradition: their family dynasty originated in Dnipro in Ukraine and as early as the 19th century, the family was known far beyond the region. For example, it was considered a special honor when the Ginzburg ensemble played at a wedding.

After 150 years of musical world travel across four continents, the Ginzburg dynasty is now “back to the roots” again: The family lives in Berlin and passionately continues their long tradition as the only professional Klezmer dynasty in Europe.
