Join Girl, So Cinema film club at Hackney Picturehouse for a screening of the new adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility.
A charming, witty, and deeply relatable story of love and sisterhood, Sense and Sensibility is an irresistible new take on Jane Austen's classic novel, from acclaimed filmmaker Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean).
Born from the Spare Ribs Club community, which explored intersectional feminism through literature, art, music, and food, Girl, So Cinema brings readers and film lovers together to celebrate book-to-screen adaptations. We'll gather before and after the screening in the Picturehouse cafe / bar for an informal discussion about the film and its relationship to Austen's beloved novel. All are welcome, members and non-members alike.
To join the GSC club and hear about future screenings, ask us about the WhatsApp group at the screening!
