Girl, So Cinema: Klara and the Sun

Join Girl, So Cinema film club at Hackney Picturehouse for a screening of Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun.

Based on the bestselling novel from Nobel Prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro, Klara and the Sun introduces audiences to Klara (Jenna Ortega), an Artificial Friend who wants nothing more than to find the perfect home.

Born from the Spare Ribs Club community, which explored intersectional feminism through literature, art, music, and food, Girl, So Cinema brings readers and film lovers together to celebrate book-to-screen adaptations. We'll gather before and after the screening in the Picturehouse cafe / bar for an informal discussion about the film and its relationship to Ishiguro's beloved novel. All are welcome, members and non-members alike.
