The Giselle of the Baltic Opera is a work of our time. Set in a seaside setting, the story reveals all romantic assumptions, and the filmmakers show that these are assumptions that are familiar even today. The waitress Giselle succumbs to the charm of handsome Albert, who has come to the sea to have fun. However, when the girl discovers that the boy is engaged, in addition to a Warsaw celebrity, she feels deceived and exploited, and as a result drowns in the sea. Who are the Kashubian waterwomen? Is it possible to get forgiveness through dance? And what does the wild rose symbolize? The answers to these and other questions can be found in the Gdansk project Giselle.
