The exhibition “Gmina Lipka, then and today” presents a series of paintings and calendar prints showing the changing face of the Lipka Commune over the years.
The juxtaposition of ancient landscapes, architecture and local motifs with their contemporary interpretations creates a multi-threaded story about places that build the identity of the inhabitants.
For the first time, the exhibition will present full paintings, only fragments of which were published in the calendar for 2021. Thanks to this, the audience will be able to see the entire composition, their scale, details and the full artistic idea, which previously remained only partially revealed.
The works of Alina Kluzy-Kaja and Gracjan Kaja combine painterly sensitivity with documentary attentiveness. The artists retain in the frame houses, streets, churches, stations and avenues, everyday spaces, and at the same time deeply rooted in local memory. Each image becomes a piece of history that returns in a new light, restoring the emotions, meanings and continuity of the place.
The exhibition invites reflection on how space changes over time and at the same time remains a living medium of shared memory. It is a visual dialogue between the past and the present, which allows to see the Municipality of Lipka as a landscape constantly created by people, their experiences and perspectives.
