About the event

Silent Green presents

Goat (jp) founded in 2013 as a quartet by Koshiro Hino, the original line-up of goat consisted of guitar, saxophone, bass and drums. The current development shows a quintet that flexibly switches between instruments depending on the piece.

Disregarding traditional musical forms, their melodies focus on muted sounds and harmonies outside the 12-tone scale. Her minimalistic compositions are an exercise in constant repetition, full of contradictions — complex yet simple, mechanical and at the same time sensual — and unfold in an almost trance-like state during her performances.

goat released their third album Joy in Fear in 2023 via Koshiro Hino's own label NAKID. Following the 2025 publication Without References/Cindy Van Acker, a collection of compositions created for contemporary dance, the Paris-based label Latency is planning to release Without References (Variations), which contains remixes by Ricardo Villalobos, for 2026.
