The film “Godej do mie” was created on the motives of the play of the same name, produced by the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theater in Katowice. However, this is not a screen adaptation of the show, but its new, cinematic interpretation. This is an intimate psychological drama, about a marriage facing trauma after the loss of a child. While Agnieszka closes in on herself, Darek returns to her Silesian roots. He tries to find an identity in them in order to rebuild himself and thus save the relationship with his wife.

Silesia is here an equal protagonist of the story — with all its specificity, distinctiveness and language. The title “GODANIE” symbolizes a deep need for understanding and closeness. The tragedy leads the characters through the painful process of confronting their own egoism, while raising the question of whether pain can become a chance for a relationship to be reborn.

It is a moving story about coming to terms with fate, returning to the roots and trying to find a new emotional language on which spouses can base their lives anew.
