Grace Cummings

In singer-songwriter heaven with Grace Cummings

Australian singer-songwriter Grace Cummings has a voice that's hard to shake off.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan, Father John Misty and Angel Olsen, Cummings has created a singer-songwriter universe where folk and indie fuse and where her distinctive vocals stand as the natural focal point. Deep, alluring and with a powerful presence, she draws the listener into a musical landscape where vulnerability and strength coexist.

Grace Cummings, through three albums, has cemented herself as a songwriter with a distinctive ability to translate great emotions into strong songs. Most recently, the album Ramona (2024) received high praise, with Pitchfork among others writing:

“Feels at first like a possible masterpiece, a new apogee in the pantheon of tormented souls. Cummings renders every moment with unmitigated emotional intensity, as though every feeling was the last one that would ever matter.

Where Ramona (2024) invited the listener inside Cummings' inner world, the upcoming album Bloodhorse! (2026) the listener even further into the deepest layers.

Here, themes of life, death and soul-searching pulse through a work that is at once magnificent, vulnerable and defiant. On the album, Cummings unfolds his extraordinary voice in a sonic universe punctuated by chirping synthesizers, tension-filled strings and soaring grooves.

On November 22, experience Grace Cummings as she brings her most ambitious work to life on stage at Ideal Bar.
