Monodram Przemysław Bluszcza in Piaseczno!

A unique event for the Audience of the series “We play monodramas!” in DeKu. At our special invitation, Przemysław Bluszcz will present his cult monodrama “Self-burning”. The uniqueness of the show in Piaseczno lies in the fact that the show itself has not been played for several years — Przemysław Bluszcz made an exception for us.

The performance is an attempt to create a portrait of the hero. Unobvious, provocative, multiple, in which fiction and creation intertwine with the real voice of historical facts.

Warsaw, September 1968, Central Harvest Celebrations at the Decade Stadium.

The heroic act, radical and final gesture of Ryszard Siwiec's opposition to the intervention of the Warsaw Pact troops in Czechoslovakia becomes a turning point in the career of a Security Service officer. Today, pushed to the margins of history, the (anti) hero of the past system, deprived of privileges and power, tries to reconstruct his path, regain the continuity of his own biography, understand and define his identity. Who is he or could he be?

Przemysław Bluszcz boldly enters both of these realities. He creates them on stage in condensed, powerful images that irritate, move, sometimes laugh, and at the same time undermine the unambiguity of the judgments of the attitudes of people involved in the crimes of the past system.

ATTENTION! After the performance, there will be a conversation with the actor, which will be conducted by Mateusz Nowak, curator of the series “We play monodramas!”.

ATTENTION! Due to the specifics of the staging — late viewers will not be allowed in the audience.

Przemysław Bluszcz — actor of the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw. He graduated from the State Higher Theatre School in Krakow, faculty in Wrocław (1997). Over the past decade, he has created more than 50 roles on the stage of the Helena Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica, the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław, the Wola Theatre in Warsaw and the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw.

He has won acting awards at theatre festivals in Kalisz, Zabrze, Szczecin and Bydgoszcz and two main acting awards in the Competition for the exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Awarded for his debut at the 49th Festival of Polish Feature Films in Gdynia. In 2011, he was nominated for the award for the main male role at the Monte Carlo Television Festival “Golden Nymph” for his role in the series “Rescuers”.
