Grand OFF again in Tarnobrzeg

The best short independent films of the world will soon be available to watch at the Tarnobrzeg House of Culture. Grand OFF review coming October 10th.

An autumn tradition has already become a review of the so-called shorts in the Tarnobrzeg House of Culture. Also this year you will be able to watch the films awarded at the 19th Witold Kon Grand OFF Festival — Best Independent Short Films of the World. The screenings will be interspersed with conversations with the participants. Aleksander Dyl — cinematographer and filmmaker — will also take part in the discussions. Viewers will watch 11 videos ranging in length from 3 to 25 minutes. Among them are: animation, documentary, dramas and comedies from Mexico, Bulgaria, Egypt, Italy, France and Poland.

The Witold Kon Grand OFF Festival — Best Independent Short Films of the World is the most important initiative promoting independent cinema in Poland and one of the most important such initiatives in the world.

The most interesting independent productions from all over the world are pre-selected and selected by a professional Nominating Committee for awards in eleven categories. The nominated films are judged by an international panel of more than 80 film experts, theorists, directors, cinematographers, editors and actors from more than 30 countries. The awards are presented during the gala, which this year will be held on December 5. This will be the 20th anniversary edition of the festival.

More than 3,744 films from 124 countries around the world were submitted to the festival in 2026.

The review will take place at the Tarnobrzeg House of Culture on 10 October at 17.00. You can join the movie marathon at any time. Admission is free.
