December Weaving | In the Green Cycle

December afternoons are conducive to slowing down for a while, sitting together at the table and finding time for creative activity, so the last meeting of this year “In the Green Cycle” will be filled with handicrafts, the scent of cinnamon and warming cocoa. We invite children, together with their parents and guardians, to workshops, during which we will learn the basics of macrame, and turn handmade trifles into unique gifts for loved ones.

We will start with something delicious - each child will prepare their own cup of warming cocoa, which can be enriched with winter additives and composed according to their own taste. With a warm drink, we will start the quiet, creative part of our meeting.

Then we will reach for the strings and learn step by step the basic weaves of macrame, chosen so that even people who have never tried this technique before can create their work on their own. Macrame key chains will be created from colored cords, and weaving will become, by the way, an exercise in patience, concentration, manual dexterity and imagination.

However, we will not finish making the key ring. We will pack the finished work in decorative paper, tie it with a string and decorate it, so that each participant will return home with a gift prepared from beginning to end, which can be given to mom, dad, grandparents, friend or other close person.

A self-made gift has a special value, because instead of another finished item, it gives someone the time, idea and commitment invested in its execution. We want to show children that creating can bring as much joy as receiving, and simple material and a little imagination are enough to make something truly personal.

The workshop will be led by Anna Khlebnikova (MiastowGrod) — educator and animator, who during the meetings combines handicraft, independence and practical education, showing how to enjoy simple, conscious creation.

We provide all materials for weaving and gift wrapping, necessary tools and warming cocoa.

Come with your children and spend a December afternoon with us at a common table — we will weave, pack, drink cocoa and prepare gifts that cannot be found on the store shelf.
