Forty curators—including both staff from the Museum of Warsaw and residents of the city—worked on the exhibition Ambiguous: Phenomena of Warsaw. Each of them brought their own perspective, experiences, and stories about Warsaw to the exhibition. We want these diverse stories to be accessible to people who do not speak Polish; therefore, we are hosting a series of guided tours in various foreign languages, offering an opportunity to explore Warsaw from a range of different viewpoints.

About the event

Forty curators—including both staff from the Museum of Warsaw and residents of the city—worked on the exhibition Ambiguous: Phenomena of Warsaw. Each of them brought their own perspective, experiences, and stories about Warsaw to the exhibition. We want these diverse stories to be accessible to people who do not speak Polish; therefore, we are hosting a series of guided tours in various foreign languages, offering an opportunity to explore Warsaw from a range of different viewpoints.

Some of the tours will be led by the exhibition’s co-creators, for whom Warsaw has become a new home. They will speak about the city in their native languages, sharing personal experiences and their perspectives on its phenomena. The programme will also include a guided tour in English.

Warsaw is a place for each and every one of us. During the guided tour, we invite you to explore what makes this city unique. What is so extraordinary about Warsaw? What kind of city is it to you?

This is how Agnieszka Pogorzelska, a guide and co-curator of the exhibition, describes her own experience:

“It all started with a competition dedicated to the phenomenon of Warsaw, followed by a desire to become part of the team creating an exhibition on the subject. That was my part of the story, which came full circle when I worked on the Forum of Memory. Your story is probably different, but perhaps you’d like to talk about what it means to be a Varsovian? And discover our perspective on a city with so many different faces?

My guided tour may not make you fall in love with Warsaw straight away, but it will certainly give you a chance to discover its many different sides.”

Language: English

Guide: Agnieszka Pogorzelska

Meeting point: Ticket desk at the Museum of Warsaw, 42 Old Town Market Square.

Participation is included in the price of the exhibition ticket.
