Singer and actor Gustav Peter Wöhler and his band have been on stage together for over twenty-five years. The actor's current “second mainstay” is preceded by a lifelong passion: Even as a child, Gustav Peter Wöhler loved entertaining guests to the jukebox at the parents' inn near Herford, followed by performances out of pure passion in the canteen of the Hamburger Schauspielhaus.
The Gustav Peter Wöhler Band has been in their current line-up since 2008; in addition to frontman Gustav Peter Wöhler, bassist Olaf Casimir, guitarist Mirko Michalzik and Kai Fischer play grand piano and keyboards. With very original arrangements of classics and discoveries from pop and rock, the former Hamburg secret tip has continuously earned a nationwide reputation. The quartet's honest, passionate music inspires everywhere.
The quartet's program features a constantly changing collection of personal favorite songs. In a proven way, the program builds bridges between stars and one-hit wonders, classics and personal discoveries. The spectrum ranges from Joe Jackson to Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell to Rio Reiser and June Carter. The titles are surrounded by very personal stories by Gustav Peter Wöhler — the audience thanks them with a standing ovation!
