In collaboration with Hyperreal Bookings, Floppen presents the Swedish country musician H. Self. This is their first concert in Denmark ever and it will be with a full band. There will be swinging country moments, intimate moments with deep, subtle lyrics — and Swedish- language rock for a full blast on December 17th.

Henric Hammarbäck has always been country. But he has not always sung in Swedish. Hammarbäck has been writing songs all his life and started out singing country songs in English, but he has really found his lyrical voice by switching over to the Swedish language. In 2024, his debut album 'Skälva' came out which received high praise in the Swedish media and made him nominated for the Swedish GAFFA award and received three nominations for Manifestgala, for which he was awarded the award for Songwriter of the Year. But even before that, he had spent years refining himself as a songwriter -- mixing other things by co-writing songs with country icon David Ritschard.

In 2025 came the album 'Efterskalv' and the Swedish media were excited to say the least. So was the audience. Since then, H. Self has toured around Sweden, back and forth through the Swedish countryside and in between tours he has also had time to release the double album 'Vildvisor'.

H. Self doesn't spend his time doing clever social media campaigns, he lets the music speak its own language and releases original music at a rapid pace. He's got something on his heart. Something that needs to go out. Something that just has to exist. H. Selfs' switch to the Swedish language has been an eye-opener. Like when Bob Dylan went electric and defied all expectations and became almost intoxicatingly creative. In Swedish, he acquires a new style.

He creates a sonic landscape in which the naked truth can be given free play. The songs revolve around the powerless, those who stand outside society and, like the legend Cornelis Vreeswijk, he writes honest stories about the Swedish underclass and the outcasts. Hammarbäck seeks to describe a community and build a narrative of the empathy and love that can be found everywhere. He gives a voice to those who are not otherwise heard. Is it shows, is it rock, country, soul or folk? Maybe a little bit of everything. Either way, the music has a power that does not go unnoticed. The lyrics are strong as chili and the critique of the order of society speaks its distinct language.

In October, the new album 'Vet hut' will be released and thus H. Self has released 4 albums, including a double album in less than 3 years. This concert is not to be missed.
