Macy goes on a forest hike with her boyfriend. In the middle of the forest, the couple discover a spooky collection of dolls and their equally bizarre owner — a woman dressed in a porcelain mask armed with a shovel. Macy is kidnapped and wakes up in a wooden house in the outback. From now on, she will have to fight for her life with a psychopath who treats her like her doll.

Filmed on analog tape, the horror “Doll” is a terrifying, ultra-brutal and bloody tribute to the American horror of the seventies — with “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” at the forefront.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

One of the six best films in the history of cinema according to Quentin Tarantino for the first time on Polish screens fifty years after its release!

A group of friends go to a Texas province to visit the grave of one of their grandfather. On the way, they come across an old house, which is only seemingly abandoned. For inside lurks a family of murderers who enjoy human flesh.

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is not just a cult horror that spawned one of the most important series in the history of the genre. It is also a great film event that, despite its small budget and lack of well-known names in the cast, has changed the face of American horror. Accustomed to less violent, often comforting horror, viewers first encountered real horror - with horror that violently commented on the situation of American society in the 1970s.

The original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” became a hit and the subject of analysis for many decades. The film has been described as a “great work of art” and compared to the Greek tragedy in its gore version, and its fans included Quentin Tarantino and Nicolas Winding Refn, among others.

Now, half a century after its premiere, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is finally hitting Polish cinemas. In a remastered 4K version that viewers have not yet seen.

Witch Mother

Cyprus, late 19th century. Painter Eleni is trying to resurrect her dead children, but instead she accidentally summons Kallikantzari - a sinister creature from local folklore that will try to destroy an entire village. If you are used to the fact that folk horror primarily uses Anglo-Saxon or Slavic legends and legends, “Witch Mother” will bring you a breath of genre freshness. Instead of damp forests, we are dealing with a sunny, rocky village, and instead of a classic witch — with a monster straight out of Greek and Cypriot folklore. The director from Cyprus, Minos Papas has an approach similar to Robert Eggers — his plot is based on extensive research, and in his film he tries as much as possible. most realistically convey the world of nineteenth-century beliefs and customs. Though he doesn't have a budget like the director of “Viking” and “Nosferatu,” his horror is remarkably consistent, engaging and visually impressive. And at the same time, it offers an insight into a world that we usually do not have access to in horror cinema.
