Why do we need contact with others so much? Does the Internet really bring people together? How do you make yourself known to other potential space dwellers?
“The search for contact with others, even beyond Earth, is another attempt to find the answer to the question of who we are.” — Carl Sagan
Since ancient times, we have sought contact with other people. Walking down this road, we discovered writing, radio, telephone, telegraph, and finally the internet. We overcame language barriers, problems related to distance and time of information flow. Thanks to modern technologies and devices that facilitate communication, we change the world and ourselves. Connected by an invisible network, we stay in constant contact with each other.
“Halo Earth” takes us on a journey in the footsteps of space probes, carrying an earthly message for future generations, and perhaps also other inhabitants of the Universe.
This is an animated film about the essence of communication, realized in fulldome technology and intended for viewing on the spherical screen of the planetarium. Thanks to the unique technology, viewers are immersed in the cinematic world, and images, music and sounds surround them from all sides.
The narrator was played by Zbigniew Zamachowski, and the music was composed by Jan Duszyński — the author of the musical setting of the films “Jack Strong” (for which he was nominated for the Eagle Award) or “Pokłosie”.
“Halo Earth” is the second film created and produced in Copernicus. Even before its release, his trailer was highlighted at the FullDome International Film Festival in Jena.
Before the film, there is a live show hosted by the Planetarium presenters.
The film has audio description and subtitles in Polish.
