Happysad was formed in 2001 in Skarżysko-Kamienna and has been one of the most popular Polish bands for years. The group has almost 1,500 concerts throughout the country, five platinum records, three gold records and attendance records in a dozen well-known clubs in Poland.
In July 2004, the band's debut album entitled “All One” was released, and a year later the album “Podróże z i pod prąd” was released. On September 1, 2007 - during the 3rd edition of the SkarFest festival organized by Happysad - the premiere of the third release of the band entitled “Nieprzygoda” took place. The album was on the first place of the OLIS chart.
2008 brought to the fans of the band a concert release “Live in the STUDIO”, which in six months gained the status of a platinum record. In October 2011, the album “Zadyszka”, a summary of 10 years of the group's activity, saw the light of day.
Subsequent albums of the band entered the top of the OLis ranking and quickly covered with gold, while the releases “Mów mi bien” from 2009 and “Ciepło/zimno” from 2012 gained platinum status.
In 2013, a concert album was released documenting the band's performance at the Woodstock Przystank in 2012 and — as the winner of the Golden Bączek — in 2013.
In 2014, Happysad returned with the album “As if there was no jutra”, which debuted on the first place in OLis and received very good reviews and within a month gained the status of a gold album. The next album of the band - “Alien Body” - was released in February 2017. The release was accompanied by 11 video clips made by the SKY Piastowskie team.
In 2019, the group released the album “Rekordowo Letnie Lato”, on the creation of which the musicians collaborated with five producers. In 2020, the fans got another concert release - the recording of the concert at the Pol'and'Rock Festival 2019.
In 2021, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary, which it celebrated with the commemorative album “Jets and Kowery” and the biographical book “Before I Go. The Long Road of Happysad” by Żaneta Gotowalska. In March 2023, the musicians embarked on a unique, intimate and “seated” tour “Happysad Differently”. On November 24, 2023 - on the occasion of Record Store Day Black Friday - a vinyl record containing some of the songs presented during it was released. The publication was published in an exclusive and limited edition.
In 2024, the band decided to independently record and release another album. The record was produced by Maciej Wasio, and the recordings were made in an old house in Podlasie in Ossolin and in the rehearsal room of the group in Halinów. The premiere of the album “First Straight” took place on September 6, 2024, and the next edition of Happysad Other was released on November 29. A year later, another Happysad release was released Otherwise 3. 2026 is the year in which the Happysad team celebrates its 25th anniversary.
