Henk Neven baritone ; Imogen Cooper piano

As Dame Imogen Cooper prepares to retire from the concert stage after a career spanning 60 years, this already compelling recital holds an added degree of attraction. She is joined by the Dutch baritone Henk Neven, a born storyteller with a seemingly infinite range of vocal colours and tonal warmth, in Schubert’s peerless depiction of a lovelorn wanderer, a heartbroken, desolate soul, pouring out his emotional turmoil in an equally desolate winter landscape.
