Autumn concert by the Berliner JugendJazzorchester

A brass section like in the Big Band, plus a string quartet, three female singers, an accordion and a double rhythm section: The orchestra of the Berlin Youth Jazz Orchestra has grown over the years and its repertoire is created especially for him. On November 20, 2026, the ensemble can be heard in the ufaFabrik theatre.

The evening will focus on two new arrangements. The Berlin State Music Council has awarded two contracts for this, supported by the German Association of Composers; the two selected composers wrote for exactly this orchestra and rehearsed their works themselves with the orchestra. There are also contemporary pieces by musical directors Fabia Mantwill and Nicolai Thärichen and plenty of space for soloists.

The BJJO is Berlin's state youth jazz orchestra. Around 26 young musicians between the ages of 15 and 25 inspire their audience with openness, joy of playing and music that picks up the pulse of the current jazz scene.
